Nintendo has sold over 2.7 million games. Customers continue to search for the newest Wii bundle deals, the recent Nintendo DSi console, and now the newest DSi XL system is also  set up to quickly access an online shop to buy, download, and store games! Note: DSiWare games users got with the DSi are NOT transferable to the DSi XL.

According to Wikipedia.com, since July of 1998, Nintendo has sold a whopping 2.7 billion games.  With the DSi in 2009, the online DSi Shop has made getting Nintendo software will be easier than ever. The Nintendo DSi XL is the newest system after a long line of other highly successful consoles:

  • 3DS (upcoming 2011)
  • DSi XL (US release 2010)
  • DSi (US release 2009)
  • Wii (2006)
  • DS Lite (2006)
  • DS (2004)
  • Game Boy Advance SP (2003)
  • GameCube (2001)
  • Game Boy Advance (2001)
  • Game Boy Pocket (1996)
  • Nintendo 64 (1996)
  • Super Nintendo Entertainment System (1991)
  • Game Boy (1989)
  • Nintendo Entertainment System (1985)

How will the DSi XL and upcoming 3DS consoles sell? Judging from the DSi, quite well! Realeased in Japan in November 2008, during the first two days, over 170,000 DSi units were sold. During the first month on the market, over 535,000 were sold compared to 550,000 DS Lites that were sold during its first launch month. Contrary to what many users expected, DS Lite did NOT stop avid players from buying the DSi.

By the second month in Japan, over 1,200,000 new DSi consoles were sold. Accessories like the stylus, game packs, and cases for Nintendo DSi have also sold there like hotcakes. Just as with the online Wii shop, connectivity to the DSi shop online contributed to incredibly high sales. In addition, popular name items like the DSi Mario bundle are selling like hotcakes.
