As fans know, various DSi games bundle packs will help game enthusiasts save money as they build their game collection. Though it may cost slightly more than earlier game systems, the good news is that Nintendo DSi console has so many fun add-ons! Here are comparisons between the DSi XL, DSi, and other popular consoles:

DSi XL versus DSi
These consoles are very similar, except for the size and audio. The DSi XL is superior in both aspects. The screen is a full inch larger, which has the unexpected effect of allowing for more precise moves. Plus, the speakers are also larger, creating louder and clearer sound effects. These two traits alone result in an improved gaming experience; however, because the functionality is otherwise very similar, and because games downloaded through DSiWare using the DSi cannot be transferred to the DSi XL, some gamers say they will hold off until the 3DS. Others are thrilled they have their DSi XL!

DSi versus DS Lite
The DSi is like the DS Lite with new multimedia functions. In Japan, the DSi went on sale in November 2008. From then to now, it is said that about 1,500,000 consoles were purchased by April 5, 2009 when the console was released in the United States. It rapidly became one of the most popular handheld consoles ever! This model:

  • Is slimmer and lighter than the DS Lite, but slightly larger screens.
  • Has an SD card slot.
  • Has two 0.3 megapixel cameras.
  • Has a completely new menu system.
  • New and upgradeable firmware.
  • Links to an online DSi Shop (like WiiWare for the Wii).
  • Is not Gameboy Advanced compatible.
  • Is faster than the DS or DS Lite. (Its primary processor is two times faster than that of DS Lite’s.)
  • Has a whopping four times more memory than DS or DS Lite!
  • Has different release dates for consoles for Japan, North America, Australia, and Europe.

DSi versus Wii
The feature that’s getting the most attention is the online DSi Shop you’ll be able to download applications and DSI Nintendo games and store them on an SD card or the console’s 256 MB of storage. (Once those release dates arrive, we’ll find out if these changes make a difference in the performance—it won’t necessarily be dramatic.) In addition, the Nintendo DSi accessories will be different—the screen protector, for example, has to be larger, and so on.
